Cool Kids of Death (CKOD) emerged in 2001 from Łódź, Poland, quickly becoming the most significant alternative rock band of their era. They are inextricably linked to the 'Generacja Nic' (Generation Nothing) movement, a term coined by bassist Jakub Wandachowicz to describe the disillusionment of young Poles in the post-communist transition.
Musically, they bridged the gap between the legendary Polish punk scene (Brygada Kryzys) and the burgeoning international dance-punk movement. Their sound is characterized by aggressive guitar work, prominent electronic sequencing, and lyrics that serve as sharp social critiques.
