Comanechi is a British noise rock and garage punk outfit formed in 2005, primarily known for the partnership between Akiko Matsuura and Simon Petrovitch. Emerging from the fertile Hackney scene of the late 2000s, they became central figures in a wave of 'vandalistic' art-punk.
Matsuura, who also played drums for The Big Pink and fronted the noise-punk band PRE, brought a high-energy, confrontational performance style that defined the band's identity.
