Formed in 1981 in Nijmegen, Netherlands, Clan of Xymox emerged as influential pioneers of the dark wave genre. The original trio of Ronny Moorings, Anka Wolbert, and Pieter Nooten gained international prominence during the 1980s through releases on labels like 4AD and PolyGram. Today, the band remains active, blending elements of gothic, alternative, and electronic rock. Moorings continues to lead the project, maintaining their legacy through ongoing touring and new studio recordings.
