Their sound identity is built on the dual-guitar architecture of Brendan Ekstrom and Colin Frangicetto, whose use of effects pedals and interlocking melodies creates a 'liquid' sonic texture. Green's vocal style, influenced by Björk and Paul Simon, introduced a vulnerability and melodic range rarely seen in their scene. Their career arc saw them move from the indie success of Juturna to a major label stint with Blue Sky Noise, eventually returning to an independent model that allowed for even more experimental releases like Violent Waves.
