Chinah creates a sound that is simultaneously icy and intimate, like a conversation whispered in a marble hallway. Their music occupies the space between the dancefloor and the bedroom, stripping away the excess of traditional pop to reveal skeletal, R&B-influenced structures. Fine Glindvad’s vocals are the centerpiece: breathy, understated, and emotionally guarded, they glide over synth beds that feel both lush and strangely hollow.
What truly distinguishes the trio is their refusal to lean into easy pop catharsis. Their songs often build toward climaxes that never quite arrive, maintaining a state of delicious, unresolved tension. This restraint comes from their diverse backgrounds in folk, jazz, and classical music, allowing them to treat pop as a laboratory for texture and mood rather than just a vehicle for hooks.

CHINAH is a three-member, English-language band from Copenhagen, Denmark. The group has backgrounds in folk, contemporary classical, and electronica music. Its members are singer and songwriter Fine Glindvad Jensen, guitarist Simon Kjær Lauridsen and electronic musician and pianist Simon Lars Gustav Andersson. CHINAH released their debut single "Away from Me" in July 2015.
