High-energy Mexican boy band pop with massive choruses and glossy production. Perfect for summer road trips and high-octane dance parties.
CD9 delivers a quintessential boy band experience filtered through a vibrant Mexican lens. Their sound is a high-definition explosion of color, characterized by soaring vocal harmonies, polished electronic beats, and hooks designed to stay in your head for days. It is music that feels like a permanent summer, radiating optimism and the kind of uninhibited joy that only top-tier teen pop can provide.
What sets them apart is their stylistic agility. While they began with a guitar-inflected power-pop and dance-pop foundation, they successfully integrated urban influences and reggaeton rhythms as they matured. Their collaboration with K-pop group Crayon Pop highlights their global ambition and their ability to blend different pop languages into a singular, cohesive aesthetic that feels both local and international.
Start with 'Ángel Cruel' to hear the classic boy band charm that launched their career, then move to 'No Le Hablen de Amor' to experience their transition into more sophisticated, urban-leaning Latin pop. It is the perfect entry point for anyone who loves synchronized energy and flawless production.
CD9 is a Mexican boy band formed in 2013. The original line-up consisted of William Valdés, Freddy Leyva, Alan Navarro, Jos Canela, and Alonso Villalpando. William Valdés left the group in October 2013 and was replaced by Bryan Mouque, whereas Jos Canela worked as the group's leader until his departure in May 2019. Their training was given in 2013, in Mexico City. The members came up with the name because they claim that the term—which is an acronym for "Code 9"—is used to change the topic of conversation and that reflects who they are.
