Formed in Paris in 1988, the French duo Cassius featured producers Hubert Blanc-Francard and Philippe Zdar. The pair became central figures in the late 1990s French touch electronic music scene. Throughout their career, they released music across various genres including synth-pop, French house, trance, breakbeat, nu-disco, and French hip-hop. Their work was distributed through labels such as Virgin Records and Ed Banger Records until the group concluded in 2019.
