Burning Witches

Burning Witches is a Swiss heavy metal quintet formed in 2015 by guitarist Romana Kalkuhl. The band is a primary torchbearer for the traditional heavy metal revival, specifically drawing influence from the NWOBHM movement, Judas Priest, and Iron Maiden.

Their sound identity is defined by high-tempo 'gallop' rhythms, prominent twin-guitar harmonies, and a vocal approach that emphasizes power and range over extreme metal growls. The involvement of Schmier (Destruction) as a producer provided an early seal of approval from the thrash community, though the band remains firmly rooted in melodic power metal.
