Intro

Bolis Pupul creates electronic music that feels like a high-end architectural model: clean, intentional, and fascinatingly detailed. His sound is rooted in the Belgian 'New Beat' tradition but polished with a 21st-century digital sheen that makes every synth pop and every drum hit land with surgical accuracy. It is dance music for the head as much as the feet, often carrying a sense of restless curiosity and sharp-witted observation.

What truly distinguishes his work is the balance between cold, machine-like precision and deeply human narratives. Whether he is collaborating with Charlotte Adigéry on satirical dance anthems or exploring his own heritage through solo compositions, there is a consistent 'winking' quality to the production. He uses silence and space as effectively as he uses basslines, creating a sense of tension that feels both sophisticated and playful.

Start with the album 'Topical Dancer' to hear his chemistry with Adigéry at its peak, then move to 'Letter to Yu' for a more personal, cinematic exploration of his sound. It is the ideal soundtrack for moments when you want to feel sharp, stylish, and slightly detached from the chaos around you.

Boris Kor Tom Zeebroek (born in 1985) is a Belgian musician, known by the stage name Bolis Pupul. He is best known for his collaborative work with Charlotte Adigéry, and particularly for their debut album Topical Dancer. His solo debut album, Letter to Yu, was released on 8 March 2024. Zeebroek was born and raised in Ghent, Belgium, by a Belgian father, the cartoonist Kamagurka, and a Hong Kong-born Chinese mother. He was previously in a synthpop band called Hong Kong Dong with his sister and her husband, then later signed as a solo artist with Soulwax's record label Deewee, through which both Topical Dancer and Letter to Yu were released.
