Formed in 1981 in Rio de Janeiro, Blitz is a Brazilian rock group that pioneered the 1980s BRock movement. The band achieved early mainstream popularity with hit singles like "Você não soube me amar." Their classic lineup featured Evandro Mesquita, Fernanda Abreu, and others. The group earned a 2017 Latin Grammy nomination for their album Aventuras II. Recently, the band mourned the loss of guitarist Rogério Meanda, who passed away in August 2025.
