Aggressive, high-fidelity British hardcore with a metallic edge. Thick riffs and strained vocals for moments that require maximum volume and total catharsis.
Blackhole emerged from the Hertfordshire, UK hardcore scene in 2006, quickly distinguishing themselves through a combination of high-profile familial connections and a sophisticated, metallic production aesthetic. Fronted by Richard Carter, brother of Gallows' Frank Carter, the band shared a similar vocal intensity but leaned further into a polished, heavy-rock-influenced sound.
Their 2009 debut, Dead Hearts, was produced by Colin Richardson, bringing a level of sonic clarity and 'big-room' density usually reserved for major metal acts like Slipknot. This production choice placed them at the forefront of the UK's 'New Wave of British Hardcore' alongside peers like Feed the Rhino and The Ghost of a Thousand. After a hiatus beginning in 2010, the band reformed in 2015, maintaining their reputation for high-energy live performances and a sound that balances punk aggression with metallic groove. Critically, they are viewed as a bridge between the raw DIY punk scene and the more commercial post-hardcore movement of the late 2000s.
