Black Oak County is a Danish hard rock outfit formed in Esbjerg in 2012. Initially emerging as a quartet, their early sound was heavily indebted to Southern rock and classic heavy metal, characterized by the gritty vocals of Niels Beier.
Their 2017 debut established them as a major force in the Danish rock scene, earning them support slots for legends like D-A-D and The Dead Daisies. The band's trajectory shifted significantly in 2017 following Beier's departure, leading bassist René Sølbeck to take over vocal duties. This transition transformed the band into a trio and pivoted their sound toward a sleeker, more melodic 'modern rock' aesthetic found on 'Theatre Of The Mind'. Critically, they are noted for their high production standards and 'T-Rex Effects' endorsed guitar tones.
