Formed in Dhaka in 1998, Black is a pioneering Bangladeshi alternative rock band. The original lineup featured Jon Kabir, Khademul Jahan, and Mehmood Tony, later expanding to include Mahmudul Karim Miraz and Tahsan Rahman Khan. Following their 2002 debut, Amar Prithibi, the group released five studio albums, including 2016's Unomanush. Alongside contemporaries like Nemesis and Stentorian, Black played a vital role in establishing the popularity of the alternative rock genre throughout Bangladesh.
