Dark, defiant electropop that balances razor-sharp digital production with raw, confessional vulnerability. High-stakes synth music for late nights and loud truths.
Beatrice Eli crafts a sound that feels like the intersection of a high-fashion runway and a gritty underground club. Her music is defined by a cold, Scandinavian precision in the production, featuring sharp synths and heavy, intentional beats that provide a rigid skeleton for her deeply emotive and often confrontational vocals. It is pop music that refuses to be polite, trading in the genre's usual sweetness for something more metallic and urgent.
What truly sets Eli apart is her lyrical fearlessness. She explores themes of queer identity, desire, and self-destruction with a directness that feels both intimate and anthemic. There is a specific tension in her work between the polished, almost clinical digital textures and the messy, human emotions she describes. This contrast creates a sense of high-stakes drama, making every track feel like a pivotal moment in a dark coming-of-age story.
Start with her debut album, Die Another Day. It serves as the definitive manifesto of her sound, particularly the standout track 'Girls,' which perfectly encapsulates her ability to turn personal identity into a powerful, rhythmic call to arms. It is the ideal entry point for anyone looking for pop music with a darker, more intellectual edge.

She says Die Another Day "is about sex, drugs and girls." She is a lesbian and prefers that term over gay, as she told a journalist in 2015.
