High-octane Finnish power metal fueled by soaring vocals and 80s synth hooks. Triumphant, theatrical, and built for the biggest arenas imaginable.
Battle Beast sounds like a neon-lit collision between classic 1980s heavy metal and a futuristic synth-pop disco. It is music that refuses to be small, characterized by massive, fist-pumping choruses, galloping guitar riffs, and a layer of shimmering keyboards that add a cinematic sheen to their aggressive foundation. The energy is relentless, designed to fill stadiums and ignite festival crowds with its unapologetic sense of grandeur.
What truly sets them apart is the vocal powerhouse at the center of the storm. Noora Louhimo delivers a performance that bridges the gap between soulful grit and operatic glass-shattering heights, often within the same phrase. While many power metal bands lean into high-fantasy tropes, Battle Beast incorporates a distinct 'party metal' element, blending danceable rhythms and catchy hooks with the technical proficiency of Finnish metal craftsmanship.
Start with the album 'Bringer of Pain' to hear the perfect distillation of their sound. It captures the transition from their traditional metal roots into the hook-heavy, synth-integrated powerhouse they are today. If you want something more theatrical and recent, 'Circus of Doom' showcases their ability to weave storytelling into high-energy anthems.
Battle Beast is a Finnish heavy metal band formed in Helsinki in 2008 by Anton Kabanen, Juuso Soinio and Pyry Vikki. The initial line-up consisted of guitarists Soinio and Kabanen, and drummer Vikki, who were high school friends. The rest of the early lineup, bassist Eero Sipilä and lead singer Nitte Valo, joined the band after auditions, while keyboardist Janne Björkroth joined through personal connections. As of 2025, the band has released seven studio albums.
