Intro

Bassic creates a world of high-definition serenity, where every synth pad feels like a wide-angle lens pointed at a digital horizon. The music occupies a sweet spot between the chillout rooms of the late 90s and the more structured, melodic world of progressive trance, but stripped of the club-heavy aggression. It is music that feels liquid and transparent, flowing with a steady, unhurried confidence that rewards long-term listening.

What sets Martin Lindhe apart is a certain Scandinavian melodic clarity, likely a distant echo of his classical lineage. There is a mathematical beauty to the way his layers interlock, using clean digital textures and shimmering delays to create a sense of vast, open space. Unlike darker ambient works, this is music that feels inherently hopeful and orderly, providing a stable sonic environment that never feels cluttered or abrasive.

Start with the album Daydreamer to hear his sound at its most refined and accessible. It serves as a perfect gateway into his style of 'suggestive' electronica, offering a series of melodic vignettes that work equally well as a primary focus or a sophisticated backdrop for creative work.

Martin "Bassic" Lindhe (born 20 January 1971) is a Swedish musician and composer, with a style that blends electronica, ambient and dance. His music is often progressive and suggestive in nature. He is best known for his string of hits on the music website mp3.com, where he during a period of almost two years he was one of the most downloaded artists in the genres electronica, new age, mood music and progressive trance. He moved to the United States in 1999. In 2020, his family lost their house in Boulder Creek, California to the 2020 California wildfires and is as of February 2021 living in a rented house. Lindhe is the great-grandchild of the Swedish composer Wilhelm Stenhammar.
