Formed in Savannah, Georgia, in 2003, Baroness is an American heavy metal band known for blending progressive, sludge, and stoner metal styles. The group, which released music through Relapse Records, has experienced frequent personnel shifts over the years. Frontman John Baizley remains the band's only permanent member. Beyond his musical contributions, Baizley is also a visual artist who designs the cover art for every Baroness album and various other musical acts.
