Formed in Toronto in 2009, Austra is a Canadian electronic project led by composer, singer-songwriter, and producer Katie Stelmanis. The band operates under the Domino Recording Company label, blending new wave and synth-pop styles. Throughout their career, they have released five studio albums, including their 2011 debut Feel It Break and their most recent 2025 project, Chin Up Buttercup. Stelmanis remains the sole permanent member of the group.
