Intro

Arnaud Rebotini sounds like the intersection of a high-fashion runway and a gritty underground bunker. His music is defined by a refusal to use computers, relying instead on a massive arsenal of vintage synthesizers and drum machines. This results in a sound that is remarkably 'thick' and tactile, possessing a harmonic richness that digital software often struggles to replicate. It is techno with a soul, often leaning into the dark, romantic aesthetics of 80s new wave while maintaining a relentless, modern dancefloor pulse.

What truly sets Rebotini apart is his imposing presence and his background in both death metal and classical music. You can hear the aggression of the former in his driving percussion and the structural elegance of the latter in his melodic progressions. Whether he is composing award-winning film scores or performing a hardware-only live set, there is a sense of disciplined intensity. It is music that feels expensive yet dangerous, sophisticated yet primal.

Start with the album 'Music Components' to hear his manifesto on analog purism. It serves as the perfect gateway into his world of oscillating filters and iconic Roland beats. From there, explore his soundtrack work like '120 BPM' to see how he translates that club energy into profound emotional narratives.
