Intro

Arianna Puello delivers a masterclass in Spanish-language hip-hop that is raw, heavy, and completely devoid of compromise. Rooted deeply in the golden-era boom-bap aesthetic, her music is built on a foundation of dusty drum breaks, menacing basslines, and sharp horn and string samples that feel like they were unearthed from a crate of forgotten vinyl. Her vocal delivery is a force of nature, characterized by a relentless, rhythmic flow that balances Dominican cadence with the sharp, direct edge of the Spanish underground rap scene.

What truly sets Puello apart is her fierce, socially conscious pen. She writes with a razor-sharp focus on systemic inequality, personal resilience, and feminist empowerment, delivering each bar with an intensity that demands absolute attention. The production mirrors this urgency, utilizing classic DJ scratches, raw MPC-style sampling, and minimalist arrangements that leave maximum space for her voice to cut through the mix like a blade.

To get a true sense of her power, start with her landmark album Gancho perfecto or the classic single Juana Kalamidad. These tracks showcase her ability to turn street-level observations into anthems of defiance, making her the perfect companion for high-intensity workouts, urban commutes, or moments when you need to tap into an unshakeable sense of personal strength.

Arianna Isabel Puello Pereyra (born 16 January 1977) is a Dominican rapper. Her single "Juana Kalamidad" reached number six on the Spanish Singles Chart. Puello lived in the Dominican Republic before moving to Salt, Girona (Girona, Catalonia, Spain) when she was 8 years old. She started out in the world of hip hop in 1993 when she recorded a song with a friend, and later joined a band with Bano known as N.O.Del KRIB (Nacidos Originalmente del Karibe). After they split up, she joined another band, Discípulos del Micro, but she had her first hit with a collaboration on El Meswy's first album, Mujer chunga. In 1998, she released her first solo album, El tentempié.
