Anklebiter is the solo electronic project of Tanner Volz, a veteran of the industrial and experimental scenes who previously worked with ML and Thine Eyes. Emerging as a distinct entity in 2008, Anklebiter became a staple of the Tympanik Audio roster, a label synonymous with the 'modern IDM' sound that blends industrial grit with ambient beauty.

The project's sound identity is characterized by highly detailed micro-rhythms, granular synthesis, and a strong sense of melodic longing. Unlike the more aggressive industrial-techno of his peers, Volz leans into a 'downtempo-glitch' aesthetic that prioritizes atmosphere and emotional resonance.
