Formed in Washington, D.C. in 2007, Animals as Leaders is an American instrumental progressive metal band. Originally established as a solo project by guitarist Tosin Abasi, the group later expanded to include Javier Reyes and Matt Garstka. The band, which is a key figure in the djent scene, signed with Prosthetic Records to release their self-titled debut in 2009 and has since produced several studio albums, including their most recent record, Parrhesia.
