ANBU

ANBU, often referred to as ANBU GANG, is a Dutch hip-hop collective hailing from Venlo, Netherlands. Formed around 2015, they became a pivotal part of the 'new wave' of Dutch rap that embraced the aesthetics of SoundCloud trap and cloud rap.

Their sound identity is characterized by bright, often abrasive synth melodies, heavy bass, and a youthful, irreverent lyrical approach that frequently utilizes regional slang. They are closely associated with the rise of DIY hip-hop in the Netherlands, moving away from the polished sounds of Hilversum-based studios toward a more home-grown, internet-centric production style.
