Formed in Bucharest in 1999, Akcent is a Romanian electronic dance and pop group founded by Adrian Sînă. Originally a duo, the project evolved into a boyband in 2001. The act gained significant popularity in Romania with the hit "Ți-am promis" and achieved broader European success with the single "Kylie." Signed to Magic Records, the group performs in English, Spanish, and Romanian, drawing their name from a play on the word accent.
