Abduction

Abduction is a French black metal entity formed in 2006, primarily known for their sophisticated approach to the genre. Unlike many of their contemporaries who lean into lo-fi production or strictly occult themes, Abduction utilizes a polished, high-fidelity sound to explore historical and existential narratives.

Their work is characterized by long-form tracks that frequently exceed the ten-minute mark, incorporating significant dynamic shifts, acoustic guitar passages, and progressive song structures. The band gained significant critical traction with their 2020 album 'Jehanne', a concept piece regarding Joan of Arc, which solidified their place in the 'French Black Metal' scene alongside acts like Véhémence.
