Released in March 2024, 'work in progress' serves as a companion piece to Holly Humberstone's debut studio album, 'Paint My Bedroom Black'. Consisting of four tracks that were originally conceived during the sessions for her debut but felt too intimate or 'unfinished' for the high-production demands of a full-length record, the EP leans into a lo-fi, sketchbook aesthetic. Sonically, it marks a slight departure from the more driving, synth-heavy alternative rock of her previous work, moving instead toward a sparse, guitar-led indie pop sound.
