Wildhund represents a total sonic metamorphosis for Lantlôs, the project led by German multi-instrumentalist Markus Siegenhort. After years of being a cornerstone of the blackgaze movement, Siegenhort spent nearly seven years crafting this follow-up to 2014's Melting Sun. The result is a complete shedding of metal tropes - no screams, no blast beats, and no nihilism. Instead, the album embraces a 'heavy pop' aesthetic influenced by 90s alternative, shoegaze, and even progressive pop.
