Released in 1981 on Neat Records, 'Welcome to Hell' is the debut studio album by Venom and stands as one of the most significant pivot points in metal history. Originally intended as a series of demos, the label opted to release the raw recordings as a full-length album, inadvertently establishing the lo-fi aesthetic that would define black metal and thrash metal for decades.
