Though Bird himself characterized the album as a side project or a 'stop-gap' while recording The Mysterious Production of Eggs, it stands as a fully realized work of minimalist chamber folk. The album is notable for its early versions of tracks that would later become staples of his catalog; 'I' is a proto-version of 'Imitosis,' and 'Skin' provides the melodic DNA for 'Skin Is, My.'
