Under the Summs

Released in April 2021, Under the Summs represents a continuation of 65daysofstatic's evolution toward a more algorithmic and electronic-focused sound, building on the generative techniques explored in their 'Wreckage Systems' project. While the band's early work was defined by the 'piano-plus-glitch' post-rock of the mid-2000s, this EP leans heavily into IDM and industrial textures. The four tracks function as a cohesive suite, moving from the aggressive, stuttering rhythms of the title track to the more atmospheric, dawn-evoking textures of the closer. Critically, it showcases the band's ability to maintain their signature 'urgency' without relying on traditional rock song structures.
