Released in 2014, Trojan Tracks represents a mature distillation of Chris Jeffs' (Cylob) long-running exploration of the intersection between pop melody and experimental synthesis. While his earlier work on Rephlex Records often leaned into chaotic braindance and abrasive humor, this album feels more cohesive and atmospheric. The record heavily utilizes vocal processing techniques that create a 'uncanny valley' effect, particularly on tracks like 'Clasty (Why Do I Still Want You)' and 'How Will I Die'. The production is characterized by its 'digital clarity', utilizing sharp transients and complex FM-style synthesis.
