Tracks from the Attic

Released just months before their self-titled debut catapulted them to global stardom, 'Tracks from the Attic' serves as a vital historical document of The Lumineers' formative period. These four tracks are essentially demos that highlight the core songwriting partnership of Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites. Unlike their later high-fidelity recordings, this EP embraces a lo-fi, 'bedroom' aesthetic characterized by tape hiss, ambient room noise, and a lack of aggressive percussion. 'Classy Girls' and 'Flapper Girl' would both reappear on their debut album, but these versions are significantly more sparse, trading the 'Ho Hey' era's foot-stomping energy for a delicate, almost fragile folk sensibility.
