Touch Me

Released in July 2008, Touch Me is a foundational EP for the Dutch duo Bingo Players (Maarten Hoogstraten and Paul Bäumer). Coming just before their massive global breakthrough with tracks like 'Cry (Just a Little)', this release captures the pair refining their signature 'Dutch House' sound. The EP is centered on a single vocal theme, reinterpreted through various production lenses. The 'Original Mix' showcases their ability to blend pop-sensible vocal hooks with the aggressive sawtooth leads that would define the EDM era. The 'Bart B More Remix' adds a layer of 'fidget house' grit, reflecting the cross-pollination happening in the European electronic scene at the time. Historically, this EP is significant for documenting the transition from the more organic, sample-heavy house of the early 2000s to the highly compressed, synth-driven 'Big Room' sound that would take over festivals by 2011. It remains a cult favorite among fans of the duo's early, more underground-leaning work.
