While Keith Kenniff's other projects (Helios, Mint Julep) explore electronic and shoegaze textures, Goldmund is his most stripped-back outlet. This specific album moved away from the slightly more melodic focus of his debut, 'Corduroy Road', toward a more textural and atmospheric approach. The recording technique is central to its identity: close-miking the piano to capture mechanical noise and room hiss, a style that influenced a generation of 'bedroom' neoclassical composers.
