Released in early 1971, Stand by Your Man is Candi Staton's second studio album and a definitive document of the 'Country-Soul' movement. Recorded at the legendary Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, under the guidance of producer Rick Hall, the album showcases Staton's unique ability to bridge the gap between Nashville songwriting and Memphis soul delivery.
