Pontiac

Released in early 2021, Pontiac serves as a companion piece and stylistic precursor to Kearney's full-length 'January Flower.' This EP represents a deliberate 'unplugging' for an artist who spent much of the previous decade blending folk with hip-hop production and high-gloss pop. Recorded with a focus on live-feeling takes and organic textures, the EP centers on themes of heritage, geography, and the passage of time. The title itself evokes the classic American automobile, serving as a metaphor for the vessels of our memories.
