Pass It Around

Pass It Around is the 1975 debut studio album by the British rock band Smokie, marking the beginning of their highly successful partnership with the songwriting and production powerhouse of Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman (Chinnichap). While the band would later become global superstars with hits like 'Living Next Door to Alice', this debut captures a more eclectic and slightly more rock-oriented sound. The album showcases a blend of soft rock and country-rock influences, heavily characterized by the band's signature three-part harmonies and Chris Norman's raspy lead vocals. Recorded at various studios including Audio International in London, the production is a hallmark of the mid-70s analog era - warm, compressed, and harmonically rich.
