Papa Cremp

Papa Cremp is the debut release from Cherry Glazerr, originally released as a cassette on Burger Records. At this stage, the 'band' was primarily the solo project of high schooler Clementine Creevy, and the recording reflects that insular, bedroom-focused origin. Unlike the aggressive, grunge-inflected garage rock of later albums like Apocalipstick, Papa Cremp is defined by its minimalism. The use of a drum machine instead of a live kit gives the record a steady, almost hypnotic pulse that aligns it more with the lo-fi 'bedroom pop' movement of the early 2010s than traditional rock.
