Released two years after Egypt Central officially disbanded, Murder in the French Quarter serves as the band's final archival statement. The EP is a curated mix of two previously unreleased tracks, 'Cliche' and 'Citizen Radio', alongside five demo versions of songs from their self-titled debut and the follow-up, White Rabbit. The band members specifically chose these versions to showcase their sound in its 'purest form,' intentionally avoiding the heavy compression and studio layering typical of the 2010s alternative metal scene. This 'carelessly raw' aesthetic provides a stark contrast to the polished production of their career-defining singles like 'White Rabbit'. By stripping away the professional lacquer, the EP highlights the core songwriting and the raspy, emotive delivery of vocalist John Falls.
