Misfit's Jubilee

Released in 2020, Misfit's Jubilee represents a significant sonic shift for Jim White, moving away from the sparse, sample-based 'swamp-hop' of his earlier work toward a more traditional, albeit quirky, rock and Americana framework. Recorded at Studio Caporal in Antwerp, Belgium, the album features a tight-knit band including drummer Marlon Patton and bassist Nicolas Rombouts, whose presence gives the record a live, kinetic energy. The tracklist is comprised of songs White wrote throughout his career that were deemed 'too weird' or 'unmarketable' by previous labels. By finally recording them together, White creates a narrative of resistance against the 'shallowness of contemporary life.'
