Mirrors

Released in 2006, Mirrors serves as a pivotal transition for Misery Signals, marking the introduction of vocalist Karl Schubach. Following the departure of Jesse Zaraska, the band utilized an internet search to find Schubach, whose more percussive and deep-chested vocal style fundamentally altered the band's sonic profile. Produced by Ben Schigel, the album leans heavily into the 'progressive' side of their metalcore identity, featuring complex time signatures and a heightened focus on atmospheric textures. While their debut was lauded for its raw emotionality, Mirrors is often cited for its technical sophistication and its influence on the 'djent' and progressive metal movements that followed.
