Inspire

Released in 2013, Inspire is the debut EP from Polyphia and serves as the foundational document for their rise to prominence in the instrumental rock scene. While their later work would famously incorporate trap production and hip-hop aesthetics, Inspire is firmly rooted in the progressive metal and djent movements of the early 2010s. The EP is notable for its 'cleaner' approach to the genre, eschewing the growled vocals and muddy distortion common in metal for a high-fidelity, melodic sound. Recorded when the band members were still in their teens, the technical proficiency displayed across tracks like 'Persevere' and 'Impassion' immediately set them apart from their peers. The EP was largely responsible for their initial viral success on YouTube and Bandcamp, establishing a dedicated fanbase before their first full-length album.
