Fatherson

Released in July 2011, the self-titled Fatherson EP serves as the definitive introduction to the Kilmarnock-based trio. Comprising only three tracks - 'Sailor's Son', '43', and 'Hometown' - the release established the band's signature dynamic of 'quiet-loud' song structures and Ross Leighton's distinctive, thick Scottish brogue. While the band would later refine this sound on full-length albums like 'I Am An Island', this EP captures a rawer, more immediate version of their anthemic rock. The production emphasizes the live energy of the trio, focusing on the interplay between driving percussion and melodic guitar lines.
