Fate of Norns

Fate of Norns, released in 2004, is the fifth studio album by Amon Amarth and serves as a bridge between their underground death metal roots and their eventual status as festival headliners. Recorded at Berno Studio, the album is characterized by a significant shift toward mid-tempo compositions, a move that polarized some long-time fans who missed the faster tempos of 'The Avenger'. However, this slower approach allowed the band to emphasize their melodic sensibilities and rhythmic 'gallop', which became their signature sound. The album features 'The Pursuit of Vikings', arguably the band's most famous song, which solidified their formula of combining simple, infectious lead guitar hooks with death metal vocals.
