Endorama

Released in 1999, Endorama represents the peak of Kreator's experimental phase during the late 1990s. Following the industrial leanings of 'Renewal' and 'Outcast', this album saw the band dive headfirst into gothic metal and darkwave influences. It is the final album to feature guitarist Tommy Vetterli (of Coroner fame), whose technical and melodic sensibilities heavily influenced the record's sophisticated arrangements. The title track features guest vocals from Tilo Wolff of Lacrimosa, cementing the album's ties to the German gothic scene. Critically, it was a point of contention among fans who expected a return to the band's thrash roots, but it has since gained a cult following for its unique atmosphere and songwriting depth. It serves as the bridge between the band's experimental 90s era and their triumphant return to melodic thrash on 2001's 'Violent Revolution'.
