Elements, Pt. 1

Released in 2003, Elements, Pt. 1 represents the most ambitious and expensive production in Stratovarius's history. Following the success of Infinite, the band moved toward a more progressive and symphonic sound, incorporating the Joensuu City Orchestra and a large choir. This shift moved them away from the straightforward 'speed metal' of their mid-90s era into a more cinematic territory. The album is structured around epic lengths, with tracks like 'Fantasia' and the title track 'Elements' pushing toward the ten and twelve-minute marks respectively.
