Before It Snows

Released in October 2022, Before It Snows serves as a thematic bridge in softy's discography, moving away from the brighter textures of summer-oriented lo-fi toward a more insular, winter-adjacent sound. The EP is characterized by its heavy use of tape saturation and low-pass filters, which give the entire project a 'submerged' quality. Unlike many of his peers in the lo-fi hip-hop scene who rely on jazz samples, softy leans heavily into original, melancholic piano compositions that evoke the 'K-Indie' sensibility of his origin.
