Atlas: Darkness

Released in early 2013, Atlas: Darkness is the second installment in Ryan O'Neal's ambitious Atlas project, a multi-year series of EPs exploring the origins of the universe and human emotion. Following the more celestial and expansive Atlas: Darkness, this EP shifts the focus inward, utilizing a darker, more somber palette of minor keys and dense orchestral arrangements. The project was recorded primarily in O'Neal's home studio, contributing to the 'bedroom-symphony' feel that balances high-fidelity cinematic scope with 'dry-intimate' vocal delivery.
